Core Tenet: Inheriting the Taoist rehabilitation concept of “strengthening healthy qi to consolidate the foundation and restoring vitality to return to the true state”, with “nourishing vitality and stabilizing physical strength” as the core, the ceremony presided over by a Taoist priest adjusts the weak aura after recovery from a serious illness and repairs the damaged essence of zang-fu organs. It helps to abandon anxiety, worry and eagerness for success, establish the maintenance concept of “advancing step by step and nourishing qi to calm the mind”, strengthen zang-fu functions, regulate qi and blood circulation, improve the body’s ability to resist pathogens, protect the steady recovery of physical strength and physical and mental health, and lay a solid health foundation for returning to normal life.
Ritual Preparation: Choose an auspicious day conducive to vitality recovery, such as “Man Ri” (Fullness Day), “Cheng Ri” (Completion Day), and “Kai Ri” (Opening Day), and hold the ceremony at Chen Shi (7-9 am) in the morning, a time when yang energy rises and essence is easy to gather. It is necessary to fast and bathe for 7 days in advance, eat a light vegetarian diet every day, maintain a regular schedule to avoid overwork, abandon the eagerness for quick results, and inform the name, date of birth and the serious illness (brief description) in advance for customizing the prayer. Altar arrangement: Place the tablets of Medicine King Sun Simiao and Antarctic Immortal (symbolizing medical protection and vitality nourishment) in the center; on the left, display the health-preserving excerpts from “Huangdi Neijing” and astragalus (symbolizing invigorating qi and consolidating the foundation); on the right, place a clean water bowl and lotus seeds (implying calming the mind and astringing essence); burn three sticks of sandalwood in front of the altar to create a warm qi-nourishing aura. The presiding Taoist priest observes precepts for three days in advance, eats vegetarian food to purify the mind, and prepares the foundation-consolidating prayer and rehabilitation maxims.
Solemn Ritual: Presided over by a Taoist priest well-versed in Taoist rehabilitation culture, the ritual adapts to the weak constitution with a slow and solemn rhythm—
Altar Setup and Worshiping the Sage: The Taoist priest arranges the altar utensils, holds sandalwood and bows three times to the two sacred statues, recites the “Medicine King Restoration Mantra” and “Antarctic Immortal Vitality Nourishment Mantra”, and prays for the dual blessing of vitality and medical skills;
Burning Incense to Gather Qi: The Taoist priest stands quietly in front of the altar, and after the fragrance spreads gently, walks around the altar three times, reciting the qi-nourishing maxim “incense attracts healthy qi, qi nourishes true vitality, consolidates the foundation and cultivates vitality, and rehabilitation lasts long”;
Wisdom Explanation: The Taoist priest selects the excerpt “Be calm and void of desires, and true qi will follow; keep the spirit inward, and how can illness come” from “Huangdi Neijing”, interprets it in plain language, and explains the rehabilitation essence of “calming the mind to nourish qi and advancing step by step”;
Herb Blessing: The Taoist priest holds astragalus and gently covers it on the classic, soaks the herb with a little clean water, and recites the blessing “astragalus invigorates qi, classics contain wisdom, healthy qi is abundant, and the body returns to health as before”;
Lotus Seed Mind-Calming: The Taoist priest takes lotus seeds and places them on a tray, arranging them into the character “安” (peace) one by one in front of the tablet, reciting the mind-calming words “lotus seeds calm the mind, stabilize the will; vitality gradually recovers, and the body is light and healthy” while placing;
Foundation-Consolidating Prayer: The Taoist priest reads the post-recovery foundation-consolidating prayer tailored for the worshiper, detailing the wishes for abundant vitality, zang-fu repair and physical strength recovery;
Positive Affirmation for Health: The Taoist priest stands solemnly facing the altar and leads the silent recitation of the positive maxim “regulate and maintain according to time, calm the mind and nourish qi, consolidate the foundation and cultivate vitality, and physical and mental health” three times;
Closing the Altar and Thanking the Sage: The Taoist priest holds incense and bows three times to thank the two sacred statues, offers the blessed astragalus and lotus seeds in front of the altar, and recites “foundation consolidation is completed, rehabilitation lasts long; sacred power protects, physical and mental health”, concluding the ritual successfully.
Delivery Standard: Provide a full HD video of the ceremony, completely recording the altar arrangement, ritual details and core links to ensure clear viewing.
