Career-Founding Ceremony

Core Tenet: Inheriting the Taoist pioneering concept of “following heaven and timing, and establishing a career with a solid foundation”, with “laying the foundation for a career and gathering qi to receive blessings” as the core, the ceremony presided over by a Taoist priest adjusts the aura in the career pioneering stage and gathers pioneering power and noble people’s aura. It helps to abandon impetuous and reckless behavior and doubts, establish the career concept of “planning before acting and establishing a career with integrity”, stabilize the career foundation, clarify the development direction, resolve potential obstacles in the pioneering period, and protect the smooth start of the career with a solid foundation, laying a solid aura foundation for subsequent development.

Ritual Preparation: Choose an auspicious day conducive to pioneering and laying the foundation, such as “Jian Ri” (Establishment Day), “Kai Ri” (Opening Day), and “Cheng Ri” (Completion Day), and hold the ceremony at Si Shi (9-11 am) in the morning, a time of vigorous yang energy and vitality. It is necessary to fast and bathe for 7 days in advance, eat vegetarian food every day to purify the mind, sort out the core goals and plans of the career pioneering, abandon the idea of opportunism, and inform the name, date of birth and career field in advance for customizing the prayer. Altar arrangement: Place the tablets of the God of Wealth and the God of Earth in the center (symbolizing the gathering of wealth and solid foundation); on the left, display the career planning blueprint and abacus (symbolizing layout planning and both wealth and wisdom); on the right, place a clean water bowl and red beans (implying good luck and solid foundation); burn three sticks of sandalwood in front of the altar to create a solemn aura. The presiding Taoist priest observes precepts for three days in advance, eats vegetarian food to purify the mind, and prepares the pioneering prayer and career maxims.

Solemn Ritual: Presided over by a Taoist priest well-versed in Taoist career culture, the ritual adapts to the needs of the pioneering stage with a solemn and calm rhythm—

Altar Setup and Worshiping the Sage: The Taoist priest arranges the altar utensils, holds sandalwood and bows three times to the God of Wealth and the God of Earth, recites the “God of Wealth Foundation-Laying Mantra” and “God of Earth Stability Mantra”, and prays for the dual blessing of wealth and earth aura;

Burning Incense to Gather Qi: The Taoist priest holds incense and walks around the altar three times, the sandalwood smoke purifies the altar, and recites the qi-gathering maxim “gathering qi leads to a stable foundation, a calm mind leads to a prosperous career”;

Wisdom Explanation: The Taoist priest selects the excerpt “A huge tree that fills one’s arms grows from a tiny seedling; a nine-story tower rises from a heap of earth” from “Tao Te Ching”, interprets it in plain language, and explains the pioneering essence of “steady progress and accumulating strength for a take-off”;

Blueprint Blessing: The Taoist priest holds the career planning blueprint, gently covers it on the abacus, sprinkles a little clean water on the corner of the blueprint, and recites the blessing “blueprint clarifies the direction, abacus calculates carefully, foundation is stable, career is prosperous”;

Red Bean Foundation-Laying: The Taoist priest takes red beans and places them in front of the tablet, arranging them into the character “基” (foundation) one by one, reciting the foundation-laying words “red beans gather qi, foundation is eternal; step by step, success is expected” while placing;

Pioneering Prayer: The Taoist priest reads the pioneering prayer tailored for the career, detailing the wishes for goal achievement, obstacle resolution and noble people’s help;

Closing the Altar and Calming the Spirit: The Taoist priest holds incense and bows three times to thank the sage, offers the blessed red beans in front of the altar, and recites “foundation-laying is completed, career is prosperous”, concluding the ritual successfully.
