Core Tenet: Inheriting the Taoist enlightenment concept that “wisdom is the clarity of the mind, and learning is the foundation of wisdom”, with “opening wisdom and enlightening learning” as the core, the ceremony presided over by a Taoist priest adjusts the physical and mental aura of children in the initial learning stage and awakens their inherent learning potential. It helps children abandon ignorance, fear of learning and distraction, establish the initial learning concept of “persistence is precious in learning, and discrimination is precious in thinking”, cultivate concentration and curiosity, lay a solid mental foundation for subsequent studies, and also protect the smooth enlightenment of learning and the purity of mind and nature.

Ritual Preparation: Choose an auspicious day conducive to opening, such as “Kai Ri” (Opening Day) or “Man Ri” (Fullness Day), and hold the ceremony at Chen Shi (9-11 am) in the morning, a time when yang energy rises and the mind is clear. It is necessary to fast and bathe for 7 days in advance, eat vegetarian food every day to purify the mind, guide the child to understand the meaning of learning in a gentle tone, avoid scolding and beating, and inform the child’s name and date of birth in advance for customizing the prayer. Altar arrangement: Place the tablet of Emperor Wenchang in the center; on the left, display the enlightenment “Three Character Classic”, writing brush and inkstone (symbolizing the inheritance of literary context and wisdom opening with pen and ink); on the right, place a clean water bowl and lotus seeds (implying eliminating ignorance, clear mind and bright eyes); burn three sticks of sandalwood in front of the altar to create an elegant aura. The presiding Taoist priest observes precepts for three days in advance, eats vegetarian food to purify the mind, and prepares the wisdom-opening prayer and enlightenment maxims.

Solemn Ritual: Presided over by a Taoist priest well-versed in Taoist enlightenment culture, the ritual adapts to children’s cognitive characteristics with a gentle and solemn rhythm—

Altar Setup and Worshiping the Sage: The Taoist priest arranges the altar utensils, holds sandalwood and bows three times to Emperor Wenchang, recites the “Emperor Wenchang Wisdom-Opening Mantra”, and prays for the blessing of literary spirit;

Burning Incense to Calm the Mind: The Taoist priest holds incense and walks around the altar once, the sandalwood smoke purifies the altar, and recites the calming maxim “a clear mind leads to wisdom, a firm will leads to progress in learning”;

Classic Explanation: The Taoist priest selects the excerpt “He who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is enlightened” from “Tao Te Ching”, interprets it in plain language, and explains the enlightenment essence of “learning to be a man before learning”;

Brush and Ink for Wisdom Opening: The Taoist priest dips a writing brush in clean water and writes the character “人” (man) on the back of the inkstone, reciting “one stroke for man, two strokes for self-cultivation, three strokes for wisdom opening” while writing, symbolizing opening the pen to enlighten wisdom;

Lotus Seed Blessing: The Taoist priest soaks lotus seeds in clean water, places them in front of Emperor Wenchang’s tablet, and recites the blessing “lotus seeds have a clear heart, wisdom grows naturally”;

Praying for Blessings: The Taoist priest reads the wisdom-opening prayer tailored for the child, detailing the wishes for cultivating the child’s concentration and stimulating curiosity;

Closing the Altar and Calming the Spirit: The Taoist priest holds incense and bows three times to thank the sage, offers the blessed lotus seeds in front of the altar, and recites “wisdom opening is completed, good fortune lasts long”, concluding the ritual successfully.

Delivery Standard: Provide a full HD video of the ceremony, completely recording the altar arrangement, ritual details and core links to ensure clear viewing.
